Typically a pool screen lasts between 6-12 years depending on a variety of factors including the quality of the current screen being used, how much sun the screen is subject to on a daily basis, prevailing weather and storms and how well the screen was installed initially. As pool cage experts, Commercial Residential Aluminum (CRA) has professional crews that are insured to replace or repair screen panels on your pool cage or enclosed patio at very reasonable prices even if we did not build your pool cage or patio enclosure in the first place. We can send a crew to your home to provide you with a quick quote and replace individual damaged panels or your entire pool cage quickly and efficiently.

Not all screens are created equal
Like most building products, there are a variety of manufacturers for screen. And while using an inferior (i.e. cheeper) screen may look the same when the job is complete, within a few years that same screen may begin to mildew, fade or tear easily in heavy winds or rain. CRA likes Phifer Screen for its superior quality and durability. With Phifer you may expect a decade or more of maintenance free screening to protect your Florida home. Other screen manufacturers simply can’t make that claim. Phifer may cost a little more but you’ll save money in the long run and have a better looking enclosure for years to come.

Our typical screen is 18 x 14 mesh which refers to the number of openings in one linear inch of screen. This mesh count screen provides a good balance of durability, ventilation and optical clarity for most enclosures. CRA also offer a variety of specialty screens including Super Screen (for incoming golf balls or active play in the pool area) and Pet Screen (about twice the strength of standard patio screen for pets that like to jump or use their paws).

How much does replacement pool screen cost from CRA?
All things being equal you can expect to pay about $1.00 to $1.50 per square foot of screen that needs to be replaced. Many companies charge up to $1.85 per square foot or more even while using inferior screen so beware. Factors that may affect your price include the condition of your current pool cage or enclosure, its height and special access issues. We even offer service that will replace your old rusted screws with new stainless steel screws that will extend the life of your cage and make it stronger.
